There is no public dataset of porcelain veneers fees for Houston practices, so we do not publish a “Houston average.” What we can give you is a sourced national benchmark, a checklist for comparing itemized quotes, and current information on how insurance and Texas Medicaid treat dental care.
CareCredit reports a $1,765 national average for a single porcelain veneer, with a $500–$2,895 range. Veneers are priced per tooth. This is a national figure, not a Houston price.

Rather than estimate local figures, we show a sourced national benchmark and help you compare real written quotes from offices you contact.
| Cost item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Veneer fee | National benchmark per porcelain veneer: $1,765 average, $500–$2,895 range. |
| Number of teeth | Ask for a list of the teeth included. |
| Preparation and mock-ups | Ask whether consultations, mock-ups and temporaries are included. |
| Replacement policy | Ask what happens if a veneer chips or debonds. |
Representative imageAsk two or three practices for a written, itemized estimate for the same treatment. Ask each office to quote the same number of teeth and the same material, and to show preparation, temporaries and follow-up separately.
Ask whether the quote covers the whole treatment or only one stage, and which follow-up visits are included. A lower headline price that leaves out part of the treatment is not a lower total.
Our Houston listings are organized by neighborhood, including Kingwood, Memorial, Montrose, Museum District and River Oaks. Listing is not an endorsement; confirm services and fees directly.
Private dental insurance. Veneers placed for appearance are usually considered cosmetic and are rarely covered by dental insurance. Ask the office to send a pre-treatment estimate to your plan, and check that the dentist is in your plan’s network. Our dental insurance guide explains how PPO and DHMO networks work.
Texas Medicaid for adults. Texas Medicaid limits dental coverage for most adults to emergency services, such as treatment for severe infection, trauma or extractions needed to relieve pain. Routine and cosmetic care is generally not covered for adults; some plans offer limited extra benefits. Ask your Medicaid dental plan whether the specific treatment is covered.
Children. Children and young adults through age 20 receive dental care through Texas Health Steps (Children’s Medicaid Dental Services). Children in CHIP also have dental coverage, with an annual benefit cap. See our Medicaid and CHIP guide.
Ask the office to mark each item as included, excluded or not yet determined, so you can compare quotes on the same basis.
